Asian Hate Crimes

Task Force

Meet the Task force

Chair: Andrew Jung

As an immigrant from South Korea, I’m passionate in fighting racist attacks against the Asian community and embracing who we are, no more or any less. I'm currently a second-year law student at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law. I have prior experience in serving in all three branches of the United States government. I am confident that the Asian Hate Crime Task Force will be able to execute and implement many positive changes that will impact the Asian American community.

Treasurer: Victor Chan

I have always been an activist for creating effective changes to our Country. As a Chinese-American, it was furious to see my own Asian community targeted and attacked. I am inspired to help bring justice for the victims of Asian hate crimes. With my background in Accounting, I will be overseeing the management and reporting of the organization’s finances.

Secretary: Samnit Gill

As a second-generation immigrant, it is essential for me to fight against racism and bring justice to victims of hate crimes. I want to live in the world where we can embrace each other’s differences such as race and not use it as a way to antagonize each other. I graduated from Rutgers University-New Brunswick with a B.S. degree in Biology and will be pursing medical school in order to obtain my Doctor of Medicine.

Advisor: Wooseok Nam

It is an honor to have the privelege to provide recommendations and insights on issues raised by the board members. As a military veteran, I am thrilled to stand with my fellow members of the organization in fighting against Asian hate crimes. The Atlanta Shooting was truly horrific and tragic that woke the Asian community to rise against hate.
